The Chamber of Commerce hosted the Annual
Buffalo Stampede Saturday September 15. It
was an amazing success. Preparations have
been in the making for months. Many improvements
have been made in Harriman Park in planning
for the Stampede through a combined effort
of The City of Buffalo, The Chamber of Commerce,
BEDC, and generous donations of many businesses
and individuals.

Another new event added this
year was a Wing
Eating Contest. It was an invitation
event
with men from local businesses,
churches,
and school. It was an entertaining
and popular
part of the Stampede. Participants
were Jim
Davis, Chad Wood, Jeff Ryder,
Tommy Davis,
Lacy Freeman, Taylor Mcgill,
Tim Ezell, Gene
Pruitt, Justin Foster, Danny
Reeder, and
Buffalo Police Chief Lance Pavelka.
The event
was sponsored by our local Pizza
Hut owned
by Carter Enterprises. After
lots of messy
faces and hands were had, the
over whelming
winner by a long stretch was
Jim Davis. He
earned a giant chicken trophy
and bragging
rights for one year.
A Car Show was held at 11:00am
with about
40 entries. Trophies were awarded
in many
catorgories. Many beautiful vehicles
and
motorcycles were entered. Trophies
were presented
at 1:00pm.
At 1:00pm the Tri County Horse Shoe Association
presented their trophies to the winners of
the tournament they hosted this weekend.
An auction started at about 1:15. A great
variety of items were up for bid. All items
were purchased or donated from local businesses.
It was a fantastic success.
A dance was held from 6:30 until 12:30 with
local bands Pushwater and Kraz'd
Kountry
playing. A huge crowd attending
and a great
time was had by all. During the
dance at
11:00pm the raffle winners were
drawn. The
winner of the lawn mower and
trailer was
Margo Carmichael of Buffalo.
The winner of
the $1000.00 shopping spree was
Dustin Boullion.
The Chamber hopes everyone had
a good time.
It was a lot of hard work, but
worth it.
