Buffalo Karate is located on Highway 79 in Buffalo, Texas and has been in business for almost 24 years. The current location is actually the businesses 3rd location in Buffalo since it opened its doors almost 24 years ago.
The dojo operates under, Renshi Thomas Ashley, a skilled martial artist with over 30 years of martial arts experience. There are 3 main instructors/black belts that help with teaching classes each week: Chris Jones of Buffalo, Kerry Jones of Fairfield, and George Grayson of Marquez. The assistance, time, and dedication from these men is invaluable.
Buffalo Karate thrives on teaching traditional Okinawan-style karate and martial arts. Students demonstrate skills and techniques in kata, kobodo, sparring, tuite, self-defense, and some ground work. The art also assist students with self-control, self-discipline, and self-confidence.
A couple of times a year the school offers a free women's self-defense class to women in the surrounding counties. The class teaches basic self-defense tactics that the women could use in defense if ever needed. There is always a good turnout and the women seem to enjoy what they are learning.
